To retire gear, it must be S-rated, but it doesn’t have to be legendary—regular gear works too. You’ll need to go into the upgrade screen and select the new dragonfly icon to retire the item. Just keep in mind: once you do this, the gear is permanently destroyed.
In return, you gain a visible retirement count that other players can see, and a cosmetic effect where fireflies appear when you bow in-game.
